Целью данной работы являются:
1.Формирование иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции учащихся.
2. Создание условий для самореализации учащихся в процессе внеурочной деятельности.
3. Усиление знаний и умений как о стране изучаемого языка, так и своей страны, которые позволяют учащимся адекватно представить культуру своей страны в процессе общения с представителями других стран и культур.
4. Повышение эффективности духовно-нравственного воспитания, через приобщения учащихся к основам православной культуры.
Задачи:
1. Создать условия для создания учащимся явлений действительности, происходящих в англоязычных странах через знания о культуре, истории и традициях этих стран.
2. Развить познавательные и творческие способности учащихся;
3. Воспитывать потребность в практическом использовании языка в различных сферах деятельности.
4. Расширить эрудицию учащихся, лингвистический, филологический и общий кругозор.
5. Способствовать становлению духовно-нравственных ценностей на основе познания и раскрытия значения православных праздников.

HAPPY EASTER
Учитель: Good morning, dear guests! Welcome at our meeting. We’d like you to get more information about this Christian tradition, its symbols and activities. We want to tell and show you how it is celebrated in Russia and Great Britain. Today we’ll speak about different traditions to celebrate Easter.
Ученик 1: Easter is celebrated every spring. It is one of the most favourite Christian holidays – the winning of the life under the death, the light under the darkness and devoted to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. Churches and cathedrals are full of people, singing voices and candle lights. Numerous church bells start ringing. People say special Easter words – “Christ is risen – he is risen indeed” joyfully greeting each other with a hug and a kiss thrice-repeated.
Ученик 2: In England Easter lasts for a week. The three most important days are Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Maundy Thursday, the king or queen of England gives money to poor people. This tradition is very old. On Good Friday, people eat fish instead of meat. They also eat hot cakes with a cross on the top. They call these cakes hot cross buns. On Easter Sunday, people eat a traditional roast dinner with lamb, potatoes and vegetables. They also give each other chocolate Easter eggs.

Ученик 3: Easter is fun for children. They decorate real eggs in pretty colours or make colourful hats, called Easter bonnets. They can also have an Easter egg hunt outside. Parents hide Easter eggs in their gardens and the children try to find as many as they can and put them in their Easter basket. People tell their children that the Easter Bunny brings the eggs! Bunnies or rabbits are symbols of spring.

Ученик 4: There are 3 favourite symbols of Easter: Easter Cross, Easter Egg and Easter Bunny. Eggs symbolize new life. The cross symbolizes Jesus’ victory over death.

Ученик 5: One of the best known Easter customs, which has a long history, is Easter parade or Easter Bonnet parade as they called it in Great Britain. This custom is originated with the tradition of buying new clothes for Easter which people wore to church. After church services everyone went for a walk around the town.

Учитель: Many of the symbols and traditions of Easter are connected with renewal, birth, good luck and fertility and Russia is no exception. The eggs can be painted or dyed. The traditional way was to boil them in water together with the skin of red onions, in order to dye the eggs red. The tradition of painting hard-boiled eggs in a myriad of colors stems back to the times of ancient Rome, when a red egg was a symbol of life itself. Traditional dishes include kulich, a special Easter cake, pasha. And, of course, the old Russian tradition of Easter is to send and deliver gifts to poor families, relatives and strangers, orphanages, hospitals and prisons.
Ученик 6: The week of Easter begins on Palm Sunday. Why Palm Sunday? In Roman times it was customary to welcome royalty by waving palm branches. So, when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem people welcomed him with palm branches in their hands. In Russia this day is called Willow Sunday and people try to decorate their houses with willow branches.
In Russia we say «Христос Воскрес!» and respond «Воистину Воскрес!» with a hug and a kiss thrice-repeated.
