Seasons: winter, spring, summer, autumn;

Months: December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November.

Повторение числительных.

Внутренний протест против Кузовлева настолько велик, что удержаться не могу и «выжимаю» из урока только то, что действительно существенно. Особенно «порадовала» фраза – I was born! Супер – Passive Voice в 3 классе!

March : первый месяц римского года, назван в честь бога войны Mars.

December : название происходит от “decem”=10.

January : назван в честь древнеримского двуликого бога начала и конца Janus (Januarius).

April : происходит от

“ aperire”=“открывать”,

вероятно из-за первых цветов.

February : происходит от “februa” – праздник очищения в Древнем Риме

May : назван именем римской богини добродетели

June : назван именем римской богини чести Juno.

September : название происходит от “septem”=7.

July : назван в честь римского императора Julius Caesar, родившегося в этот месяц.

October : название происходит от “octo”=8.

August : назван в честь римского императора Augustus, т.к. некоторые судьбоносные события его жизни случились в это время

November : название происходит от “novem”=9.

Почему сентябрь (09) и последующие месяцы именуются 7 и т.д. – изначально месяцев было 10, но императоры решили себя увековечить, внесли изменения в календарь, забрав по несколько дней от каждого месяца и, таким образом, «вклинились» в календарь.

Four seasons

Spring, summer, autumn and winter are the four seasons.

It is winter now. December, January and February are the winter months. The weather is cold in winter. The days are short and the nights are long.

Spring. March, April and May are the spring months. It is cool or warm in spring. The weather is fine. You can see many nice flowers.

Summer. June, July and August are the summer months.  It is hot in summer. The weather is fine. The days are long and the nights are short. The fields and trees are green.

Autumn. September, October and November are the autumn months. It usually rains in autumn. The trees are yellow and red. You can see apples on the apple-trees.
