Imagine that you are allowed to have some of the gifts for your birthday. Choose three gifts, which you think are the most important or useful and three, which are the least important or useful.
Good health; plenty of money; a nice house; a brilliant mind; an attractive face; lots of adventure; a good job; a fast car; a happy marriage; a long life; a lot of friends. Will you put health on the first place? Why yes/no? The phrases may help: Which is the most important thing for you? I think the most important thing in life is….. I think it’s much more useful/important to have ….that…. ….isn’t as important as…. The one thing I’d like to have is… The one I think is most/least important is…. |  |

To be healthy in your life,
Don’t forget to do all five,
Get up early, quick and bright,
Exercise with all your might.
In the morning jump and run,
Eat your breakfast you’ve done,
Train your body, train your brain,
And all bad habits pass away.
BAD HABITS.
Well ,he eats like a pig ,
He can’t get enough.
He works like a dog ,
He looks real tough ,
He smokes like a chimney
Four packs a day .
He sleeps like a log ,
What more can I say ?
He drinks like a fish ,
Scotch on the rocks .
When he gets real mad ,
He hardly talks
He cries like a baby
When he is feeling sad .
He is the dearest friend

One of our first duties is to keep our body in perfect order. There are some laws of keeping health which are very simple. Fresh air, healthy food and certain exercises are important to keep fit. Rest is also important to the health of the body and mind. If our body suffers, our mind suffers too and we are unable to study and work well.
If one of these rules is broken we may fall ill. But remember - it’s better to prevent illness than to cure it. If you want to be healthy and fit eat more fruit and vegetables - they are rich in vitamins and minerals. Avoid fat food and fast food.
Don’t eat too many sweets and buns.
Take up sports. It makes us healthy, keeps fit. Many people do sports on their personal initiative. They practice swimming, football, tennis and volleyball.
A lot of people attend fitness clubs - it’s up-to-date nowadays to look slim and attractive and not to be coach potatoes.
Our way of life influences our health too. Smoking, drinking alcohol is bad for our health. Remember a proverb - “An early bird catches the worm”. Get up early and don’t go to bed late - otherwise you’ll be tired to fulfill your everyday duties. Don’t spend much time playing on your computer - it’s bad for our eyesight and spoils our health.
Our health is our greatest treasure and it’s our duty to preserve it.
