Yes, I agree. We have a lot of traditions. We celebrate holidays, spend time together, and have family dinner. These traditions glue my family together.

It would be fair if they all helped their parents. Children often turn to their parents when they need help with their homework. Most pupils at elementary school do so. It is time they paid their debt of gratitude to their parents. Some pupils say that they should be paid for doing household chores as it is common practice in Western Europe. They forgot that children there pay for their own clothes and they do earn their pocket money which we get for nothing.

When you're a child, of course easier to make friends. Children have more interests and time. They can make friends on the Playground , in the sandbox , riding on a swing . they just talk about anything , not to a specific topic

It’s not easy to make friends. It’s also very difficult to stay friends for years. You have to work at it. If you want to be a friend you should think carefully before you say something to people and think twice before you do anything. You should be mindful of how your words may affect people. You shouldn’t criticize anybody or be hypocritical even in thoughts.

It has always been important to have a good education. A person with a good education very often can find a good place in the society.

I agree with the statement. Pupils at school are given an opportunity to learn the basics of any science. In addition, children are shown how to get more knowledge.

If my classmate is sporty I would recommend going in for some physical activity. Our volleyball team is good.  If he or she is good at singing or dancing my recommendation will be to become a member of our music club.

It has always been important to have a good education. A person with a good education very often can find a good place in the society.

My best memory from school was the camping with all of students in my class. It was a great trip and I got a lot of memories in there that it makes me never forget.

Remember that your job is what you are going to do all your life. Think not only about benefits like a good salary and prospects of being promoted but the price you will pay for them. Having less stressful work means that you earn less money but a happier life sometimes is a longer one.

5. Some people think that it is necessary to have good communication skills in order to get a good job. Do you agree with this?


Being an excellent communicator can help you land that first job in your new career and ensure a positive future. It can separate you from other applicants, help you be a more effective employee and serve as a stepping stone to leadership responsibilities and career advancement.

Period and modern houses are very different. Give advice what house to choose.

My choice is to live in a modern house. It is more economical to run and better equipped. As for me, period houses are for boasting about, not living in. Period houses always need fixing since they were built long ago.

5. They say that the place people live in reflects their character and personality. What do you think about this idea?



I agree. The way people decorate their houses reflects their personality. Calm people paint the walls blue, whereas aggressive ones are in favour of red and orange.

5. Can you tell me how to cook one of your favourite dishes?


My favourite dish is borscht which is a beet soup served hot or cold, usually with sour cream. To start with, you peel potatoes, beet roots, carrots. Then you chop everything and put them into boiling water in a special order. First go beet roots, then go potatoes and finally go carrots. They took different time to cook. At the end you add some flavourings.

Yes, it is. I am not an expert on shopping but I think our shops lack in variety things on offer. Our goods are of high quality.

Is it a brand new model? How much is it?  What does it have inside? Does it have an access to the Internet?

4. What can you advise a teenager who wants to buy a birthday present for his/her friend?

Buying a good birthday present is not easy. The safest option is to remember what he wanted to buy lately. To my mind, a present shouldn’t be expensive and trendy. It must be useful.

5. Some teenagers think that parents should pay them for doing their household chores. Do you share their opinion?

I usually spend my pocket money on different entertainments, such as going to a cafe or a disco or I also buy sweets, chocolate, ice-cream.

5. Do you think it is important to follow our grandparents’ traditions? Why?

10. Traditions are a part of our culture, so we should carefully observe them to respect our ancestors and feel that we are a nation.

 9. I would advise him to spend more time with his friends outdoors. His parents should demonstrate to him that there are things in life which are more important than the Internet.

5. Can the Internet replace all the other means of mass media? What is your point of view?

10. Maybe yes, maybe no. The Internet is a great source of information and entertainment for many people. But there are always those who prefer going to the theatre or reading a good book. We’ll live and we’ll see.

7. I prefer travelling by car. Travelling by car is convenient. You don’t depend on the timetable. You are free to stop and change the direction whenever you want.

9. If I were you, I would travel around my own country first and then travel abroad.  There are a lot of places to visit in Belarus, such as Mir and Nesvizh castles, Belavezhskaya pushcha, Brest fortress and others.

5. What difficulties can you have when visiting a foreign country? Is it possible to avoid them?

10. Visiting a foreign country, people usually come in touch with culture, traditions and ways different from their own. To avoid possible difficulties one should get acquainted with this or that country beforehand and then follow the proverb “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.

4. What can you advise a person who is weather dependent?

In fact, the weather influences not only such people’s mood and emotions, but their physical state. I would advise weather dependent people to follow weather forecasts and take measures beforehand.

5. They say there’s no bad weather, there are bad clothes. What do you think about it?

They also say, “Be thankful together whatever the weather”. If you have proper clothes on, no season and no weather is bad.

If I were you, I would first of all have a view of London from the London Eye. Then I would visit Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, the Tower and others.

5. Do the British differ greatly from Belarusian people in character? Why?

We speak different languages, have different customs, traditions and historical development. So, yes, we do, but we have much in common, too.
