THEATRE
For lots of people theatre has become a kind of magic where actors transform into various characters. A dramatic performance was the only chance to show somebody else’s life for societies without cinematograph. Life of others is always interesting to us. We compare it to ours. We are happy if our life is better as well as we feel sorrow if our life is worse. That is why theatre became so popular in ancient Greece and then has spread into other countries. At present almost every country boasts at least one theatre with a stock company.

Even the types of theaters vary from classical to musical ones. People have always liked visiting theaters for relaxing, entertaining and just having a good time. Everyone can find something suitable for their tastes The theater can be divided into two parts: one is the stage where actors perform their roles, the other is the hall where spectators sit. The hall and the stage are separated by a curtain and orchestra. Besides, every theater has a cloak-room and a restaurant. Theatres may vary a lot in sizes. I’ll never forget my first visit to the Opera and Ballet Theatre. My friend and I wanted to see the famous ballet “Swan Lake” by Tchaikovskyi. We bought the tickets in advance and came to the theatre half an hour before the show. At 7 sharp the performance began. From the very first minute I was deeply impressed by everything I saw on the stage. The costumes were fine. The dancing and music were thrilling. The ballet seemed to me a fairy-tale. I had never seen anything more wonderful. My friend also enjoyed every minute of it. When the curtain fell at the end of the performance, there came a storm of applause. It seemed that it would never end. The dancers received call after call. They were presented with large bouquets of flowers. We also applauded enthusiastically. The performance was a great success.
