How can film help us learn English?

1. It is open-ended. Because this topic is extensive. It causes and requires vast, numerous discussions.

2. It is provocative. It is difficult to adjust to watching film or serial in a foreign language. It is not the usual way of learning a language.

3. It is challenging. There is a lot of unfamiliar vocabulary: words, phrases, idiomatic expressions and slang. It is difficult to perceive such range of information in accelerated.

4. It is meaningful (Does it go to the heart of a discipline or a topic?). Because the student keeps in mind new lexicon, learns to perceive the live speech by ear and thereby broaden, liberalize his vocabulary (idiolect) and general outlook.

5. It is realizable (Does it arise from real-world dilemmas that students find interesting?). The film always causes interest. Therefore it is a piece of cake to choose worthy fiction or documentary film. All depends on individual interests. In such a way we combine pleasant viewing with an effective study of the language.
