Protocol for the project: Critical Friends

Essential Question: "How to learn the name of colors in English for young learners?"

1.

Introduction (10-15 min)

Defining the Essential Question with the students, discuss the essential question. Introduce the protocol, set time limits, choose a facilitator and timekeeper, and explain the protocol to students. Ask for questions and clarifications. Also sharing the responsibilities among the group members.

2.

Presentation (15-20 min)

Share the details of the project plan with the circle of students, including the challenge, Driving Question, activities, end product, and ideas for the exhibition of work. Tell students what you intend for them to learn and how it will be accomplished.

3.

Clarifying questions (up to 7 min)

Students ask questions to get information that will help them understand the project, the topic of project, the aims of the project.

Warm and cool feedback (15-20 min)

Students share feedback with each when the teacher remain silent.

The feedback generally begins with a few minutes of positive feedback, moves on to a few minutes of more critical feedback,

and then moves back and forth between warm and cool feedback. Students also discuss their project work, talk about advantages and disadvantages of research. They can add some suggestions for improving their project.

5.

Reflection (5 min)

Students reflect aloud on suggestions which other students suggest them, respond to the comments and ideas.

6.

Debriefing (5 min)

Discussion the experience with the group and evaluating the results.
