Text 20. AN ENGLISH SCHOOL.

Pupils go to school from Monday till Friday. Lots of pupils walk to school. Some pupils eat at school. School starts at 9 o’clock. Most schools have lessons in the morning and three lessons in the afternoon. Homework takes an hour and a half. School finishes at four o’clock.

I don’t like our school uniform. There are many schools without uniforms now. Some schools have got a uniform, but the pupils don’t have to wear it. Why do we have to wear a uniform? It isn’t modern and the colours are terrible.

I can’t go home for lunch. I eat at school. I don’t like the lunches at school. I like to have a sandwich. But where can I eat it? At my friend’s school the pupils have got a sandwich room. They can eat their sandwiches at school. It’s a very good idea. Can we have a sandwich room, too?

I like the school library because it’s quiet. There are lots of interesting books in it. But we cannot do our homework there. Why? I like to do my homework there rather than at home.

I like the teachers and the classrooms. Perhaps the lessons are too long. In general, I like school.
