| 1. Distribute the worksheet among students and ask them to prepare the speech about a special occasion in our country. (Each group has their own special day which is on the picture). (“Jigsaw”) 2. Ask students to answer for the question: “What do we prepare before the celebration when we want to see some people on it?.” Next ask learners to work with the texts in their textbooks. (Students read the texts quickly and match invitations 1-3 with replies a-c) (p.76 ex.2a). (Learners write down the answers on the papers an show to the class) 3. Then students check their knowledge about the contents of the texts by listening the texts and doing the exercise “Answer the questions” (p.76.ex.1c) 4. Tell students about the vocabulary zone which happens very often in the texts: phrasal verbs. Ask students to discuss in groups what phrasal verb is. Next, students work with dictionaries and find the translations for the words. (phrasal verbs are on the board). After checking up the task, ask students to complete sentences using the appropriate phrasal verb. (p.77 ex.3a) (groups check each other) 5. Ask students to make up invitations using new vocabulary from the lesson (group work), p. 77 ex.4 Distribute the card of different colours. Read the statements and ask learners to show the red card if they absolutely agree with it; the green card – if they partly agree; and black card if they disagree. I can use new vocabulary in the speech; I know how to use phrasal verbs; I can use new vocabulary without mistakes. I can speak and ask about the celebrations. Self –evaluation: if they show 3-4 times red cards they get excellent marks; if they show 3-4 times green cards they get good marks for the lesson; if they show 3-4 times black cards they get satisfactory marks for the lesson. H/W: ask learners to make up 5 “true/false” sentences using new vocabulary from the lesson. |
