Технология «Шесть шляп мышления» на уроке английского языка по теме «Средства массовой информации»

Технология «Шесть шляп мышления» как технология проблемно-диалогического обучения идеально вписывается в урок-обобщение на средней и старшей ступени обучения английскому языку, развивает критическое мышление и поддерживает интерес учащихся к предмету.
Белая шляпа. Белый цвет беспристрастен и объективен. В белой шляпе «варятся» мысли, «замешанные» на цифрах и фактах.
Красная шляпа. Красный цвет символизирует гнев, ярость и внутреннее напряжение. Вот и мы в красной шляпе будем отдавать себя во власть эмоций.
Черная шляпа. Черный цвет мрачный, зловещий, словом – недобрый. Черная шляпа покрывает собой все дурное – то, что страшится людских глаз.
Желтая шляпа. Желтый цвет солнечный, жизнеутверждающий. Желтая шляпа полна оптимизма; под ней живет надежда и позитивное мышление.
Зеленая шляпа. Зеленый цвет – это цвет свежей листвы, изобилия и плодородия. Зеленая шляпа символизирует творчество.
Синяя шляпа. Синий цвет холодный; это – цвет неба. Синяя шляпа связана с организацией и управлением мыслительным процессом, а также с применением шляп других расцветок. Начало и расцвет новых идей.
План урока:
1. Введение в урок (весь класс) – интерпретация цитат по теме, формулировка темы и цели урока учащимися.
2. Мозговой штурм (весь класс) – кластеры с главным слово Mass Media, учащиеся обсуждают и заполняют в группе.
3. Игра «Пойми меня» (группы) – учитель раздает карточки со словами, которые учащиеся должны объяснить другим группам, не пользуясь однокоренными словами.
4.Шесть шляп мышления (6 микрогрупп) – учащиеся готовят высказывания по теме с разных точек зрения.
5. Рефлексия (весь класс) – учитель записывает ошибки, допущенные во время устных ответов, на доске, не акцентируя внимание на том, кто их допустил, и просит учащихся их исправить или вспомнить правило по теме.
Тема урока: Mass Media
Цель урока: развитие монологической и диалогической речи учащихся, формирование лингвокультурной компетенции учащихся.
Задачи: развивать лингвокультурную компетенцию; активизировать лексику и лексико-грамматические конструкции по теме; познакомить с цитатами по предложенной теме; поддерживать дух толерантности, принимая другие точки зрения; развивать способности к переключению уровней мышления; развивать умение работать в группе.
Ход урока
1. Lead in: It’s cold today, isn’t it? Have you listened to the weather forecast over the radio or watched it on TV or in the Internet? Look at the blackboard. Here are the quotations, connected to our topic. Can you read and interpret them? (5 min).

What do you think our today’s topic is? Mass Media. The final activity. And if it is the final activity what can be the aim of the lesson?
The aim: To sum up all the information on the topic «Mass Media» and to analyze this phenomenon from different points of view, to practice conversation skills.
2. Brainstorm: Listen to me and say what kind of media these verbs are connected to: to listen to, to watch, to broadcast, to download, to switch from channel to channel, to surf, to search for info, to communicate, to provide readers with info, to show in pictures, to publish, to print, to click a mouse, to damage eyes, to get lazy, to read on-line, to send a message, to transmit, to plug into, to be hooked on, to get access, to get a virus, to chat, to cover news, to read (3 min).
The cluster «Mass media»: You’ve got papers with the word Mass media in the middle. Think it over in your groups and fill in the info (7 min).
4. «Do you understand me?» game. You’ve got the words on the topic «mass media»; your task is to give the definition so that the other groups could guess the words. You may use synonyms and antonyms but you mustn’t use the derivative words. (5 min to get ready) For example, it is a TV or a radio programme about the temperature, sun, rain, and wind for today or tomorrow (weather forecast). Television, tabloids, the net, mass media, radio, quality papers, channel, weather forecast, web site, a soap opera, a commercial, private life, a documentary, the news, scandals and gossips, a computer mouse.
5. Six thinking hats: (20 min). You have to discuss mass media from different points of view.
A white hat: Neutral. Give all the facts you know about different kinds of mass media. Don’t give your own point of view and don’t show your emotion. Don’t speak about advantages/disadvantages. The more you speak the better.
A yellow hat: Positive thinking. Speak about the pluses of different kinds of media. Don’t forget to speak about the advantages of TV, newspapers, the net. The more you speak the better.
A black hat: Negative thinking. Speak about the disadvantages of mass media: problems, negative effects. Give examples. The more you speak the better.
A red hat: Emotional thinking. Give your own point of view on different kinds of media: what you like/dislike, how much time you spend on it. Don’t forget to use exclamatory (восклицат.) sentences. Speak about your favourite media. The more you speak the better.
A green hat: Creative thinking. Use your creativity speaking about any kind of media. You may create a poem, a cinqwayn or a short humorous story about the net or TV or papers…
A blue hat: Summarizing .You must draw a conclusion, to sum up all the info.
What kinds of media will be acceptable in the future? Will the net replace books, newspapers and the radio?
5. Reflection (5 min).
Look at the board and try to find and correct mistakes.
Your home task is to write the «For and against essay» on the topic Mass Media.
