Theme. Watching films.

1. Warming up.

Ask your partners and find out:

1. – who likes to go to the cinema;

   • who usually watches new films at the cinema.

1. – when they were at the cinema last time;

   • who doesn’t like watching films at the cinema.

1. – who are their favorite actors;

- what kinds of films they like to watch.

1. – who likes to watch cartoons;

   • what interesting film they have seen recently.

1. Pre-reading activity. Ex. 2, p. 132-133

1. Where do you prefer to watch a new film: at the cinema or at home?

2. Why do you prefer to watch films at the cinema (at home)?

3. What attracts you in the films: actors, the plot, special effects or something else?

New vocabulary:

1. Films:

• a western – про ковбоев;

• a comedy – комедия;

• a cartoon – мультфильм;

• an adventure – приключения;

• a war – про войну;

• a science fiction – научная фантастика

• a feature – художественный фильм

• thriller – триллер

1. Look at the pictures and talk about the films you like to watch. Use the phrases:

• to tell smb. about real life events – рассказывает о реальных событиях;

• to entertain smb.- развлекает;

• to make smb. think about smth. – заставляет кого-то думать о чем-то;

• to teach about the moral values – учит моральным ценностям;

• to predict smth. – предсказывает что-то;
