1. Составьте условные предложения I типа

Model:   If the weather (be) good I (go) for a walk.   If the weather is good I will go for a walk.

1. If I (see) John, I (tell) him your news.

2. He (be) very pleased if it (be) really true.

3. If she (go) to town on Monday, she (meet) my brother Tom.

4. If you (need) help, my father (help) you.

5. We (have) a picnic lunch if the day (be) fine.

6. If you (ask) a policeman, he (tell) you the way.

7. I (finish) the job tomorrow if I (can).

2. Составьте условные предложения II типа

Model:   the questions be so easy/ all of us pass the test. If the questions were so easy, all of us would pass the test.

1. he be slim/ he be more attractive.

2. she play with the children / they not cry.

3. you drink much milk/ you feel better.

4. I do homework/ I get good marks.

5. Peter live in a house/ he have a dog.

3. Составьте условные предложения III типа

Model:  If she (come) at 5 p.m., we (take) her with us. If she had come at 5 p.m., we would have taken her with us.

1. If I (know), I (tell) you.

2. If she (want) to talk, she (ring up). 

3. If he (have) enough money, he (buy) a large house.

4. We (be) pleased to see you if you (arrive).

5. I (understand) Mr Smith if he (speak) slowly.

4.    Составьте предложения, найдя соответствие между левой и правой колонками.

 Упражнение 7.  Поставьте глаголы, данные в скобках в нужную форму.

Упражнение 10.    Объедините предложения по образцу.

Образец.   I’ll pass this exam. I’ll go to the university. =

If I pass this exam, I’ll go to the university.

1. He can find cheap flat. He’ll stay here for two more weeks.

2. They don’t speak English, so his English doesn’t improve.

3. The baby is a girl. They’ll call her Ann.

4. He doesn’t work overtime. He doesn’t earn much.

5. He didn’t help me. I didn’t do my work on time.

6. I didn’t see the signal, so I didn’t stop.

7. We didn’t visit the museum because we had no time.

8. You will come late. You need to a taxi.

9. The shop is closed. I can’t buy milk for supper.

 Упражнение 11.  Раскройте скобки, употребляя глаголы в правильной форме.

Laura (live) in a big city. If she (live) in the country, she (have) a dog. Laura (share) a flat with three other girls. But if it (be) possible, she (live) on her own. If she (live) in the country, she(buy) a little cot­tage, and she (grow) her own flowers and vegetables. In town, she (travel) by underground and (go) shopping in big department stores, but she (not/like) this at all. If she(be) in the country, she (ride) her bike, and she (buy) things in the little village shop. She(love) walking and often (go) for a walk in town, but the streets are noisy. In the country, she(walk) across the fields with her dog.

3. Замените условные предложения I типа (реальное условие) на условные предложения II типа (нереальное условие).

Н-р:  If we make a fire, we will frighten away the wolves. (Если мы разожжем костер, мы спугнем волков.) – If we made a fire, we would frighten away the wolves. (Если бы мы разожгли костер, мы бы спугнули волков.)

1. If you leave the child alone, he will hurt himself.

2. We’ll make nice pictures if Paola brings a camera.

3. If it snows, the kids will make a snowman.

4. I’ll buy this laptop if I have enough money.

5. If our granny puts on her glasses, she will see the flowers.

6. If you are too busy, we’ll leave you alone.

7. I will plant the tomatoes tomorrow if it rains.

8. If Bob finds his relatives, he will live with them.
