DESCRIBING PEOPLE

Appearance Charecter

Начнем с общего впечатления.

1. Внешность (общее впечатление):

What do you look like? —  Как ты выглядишь?

What is his appearance like? —  Что представляет из себя его внешность?

What do you like about her / his appearance?  —  Что тебе нравится в ее / его внешности?

Прилагательные (общее впечатление):

• nice  — милый
• pretty — хорошенькая
• beautiful — красивая (о женщине)
• handsome — красивый (о мужчине)
• good-looking — приятной внешности
• ugly — неприятной внешности, безобразный

Чтобы ответить, используйте конструкцию с глаголом BE:

I am … She / He is …

ПРИМЕРЫ: I am good-looking. —  У меня привлекательная внешность. She is beautiful. — Она красивая. He is handsome.  — Он красивый.

ПРИМЕР ОПИСАНИЯ ВНЕШНОСТИ

Susan is a short girl. She is thin. She has got long dark hair and a round face. Her eyes are blue and her nose is  turned up. She looks pretty.

She has a brother. His name is John. John is a tall boy. He has got short fair hair and an oval face. His eyes are big and brown. He has big ears and his face looks funny.

My mum is 50.

She has two children.

But she looks her best.

What about the character?

My mother gets well with people so she has many friends.

Everyone says that she  has a heart of gold. She is modest, calm, honest and frank.

I always come to her when I need advice. Sometimes she is a shoulder to cry on.

But my mother usually speaks her mind and never tells me off.

I think she is more practical and realistic, but from time to time she is sensitive.

She has always taught us not to afford the heart rule the head.

And when we pick on anyone we should always put ourselves in other people’s shoes. The only her fault that she takes problems to heart.

So my mother is friendly and faithful.

But there are some things which she dislikes.

For example she hates cruel, sly and envious people.

I think that everyone must have a person whom it is possible to talk on equal with.

I always can rely on my mum.

  There are a lot of different people in the world.

And we should get well with everybody because negative emotions are badly.
