ME AND MY FAMILY
My family is not too big and I can not say that it is small. It consists of my dad, my mom, my sister and my brother. My mom's name is Jeren. She is a housewife. She is 39. My dad's name is Ahmet. He is 42. He is a businessman. He has got his own company. My dad is a very busy man. He works too much. My sister is fifteen. She is a schoolgirl. My elder brother is a student. He is twenty. We live in a nine-storeyed building on the seventh floor. Our apartment has four rooms. My school is not too far from my home. I like to go to school. But I do not like to wake up early. I have many friends there. I have my own computer at home. I like my computer and I like to play games on my computer. I go to school six days a week. We have got a pet. It is a dog. His name is Alabay. I like our Alabay. He is a very smart and ridiculous dog. He is four.

MY FAMILY DUTIES
I live with my mother and father. I like to help them. Every Sunday I clean my room. I take the vacuum-cleaner and clean the carpets. I sweep the floor, dust the sofa and the chairs, I try to dust the furniture in a proper way. We have got many flowers at home. Twice a week I water them. I like flowers very much.
But best of all I like to lay the table. I do it carefully. I spread the table cloth and then I put out table — mats to protect the table from hot plates and dishes. A small mat for each guest and larger ones for the hot dishes. I put out the cutlery, which clean and polish every week, and I sharpen the carving-knife. The cutlery is kept in a drawer in the sideboard. The glasses are kept on shelves in the sideboard. I take out of the drawer in the sideboard all the cutlery — a fish-knife and a fork for fish, a large knife and a fork for meat, a small knife for butter and fruit, for dessert. Then there is a pudding-spoon and a fork for sweet dishes, and a soup-spoon for soup.
I put the knives and a soup-spoon on the right-hand side and the forks on the left, except the pudding-spoon which I put across the top. Then I put the serving — spoons and forks, the carving-knife and fork, the bread-board and the knife to cut bread. On the left of each guest I put a small plate for bread and on his right a glass. And I am ready for the guests to come.

MY FAMILY IS AN EXAMPLE FOR ME
Have you ever been influenced by some important person that helped you be the person that you are today? I have been. The people that have had influence on me are the most important human beings, my family. They are important because they helped in my development. Also, they gave me the things that I needed to grow up in the moment that I needed and they still gave me everything that I needed to become somebody in the future. Among these things is the education that I have received all in my life, my basic needs like food, clothes, medicine, a place to live, and the most important thing, the love. They teach me good values like how to behave, to respect other people, and to share with other people. I understand why they do certain things and it is because my parents want the best for me. On certain occasions I get mad, but later appreciate their words of wisdom and understand. My parents are wonderful.

MY PARENTS AND THEIR JOBS
Before I start speaking about my family let me introduce myself. I am Ahmet Bayramov. Ahmet is my first name and Bayramov is my surname. I am fourteen. I was born in Dashoguz, so Dashoguz is my native city.
I am not tall, dark-haired and dark eyed young person. I like to wear jeans and T-shirts. I like pop, rock and classical music. My hobbies are sport and reading.
My family is not large but very friendly. I have got a father, a mother and a sister. I also have grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
First I am going to talk about my father. I am very proud of him because he is a sportsman. When he was young he was fond of sports, especially cycling and he decided to be a coach. Now he spends a lot of time with children, teaching them how to get good results and success riding a bicycle. He is a broad-shouldered, tall man with dark hair and grey eyes. His name is Meret Durdyyevich, he is forty-seven. He is very experienced and there are many pupils in his sportschool. There are even some sportsmen in his team who took part in Olympic Games. But we can hardly find him at home because he often has different competitions in other towns. When he is not busy we spend our time all together. We go to the Zoo, cinema, theatre.
Now a few words about my mother. Her name is Maral Gurbanovna. She is three years younger than my father. She is a teacher of music at school. My mother is a slim and pretty woman. She has fair hair and blue eyes. She is always elegant. She has a lot of work at school, but she tries to dedicate as much time as possible to me and my younger sister. My mother is very good at cooking and we help her with the housework.

THINGS I CAN DO
I can play the guitar but I am still learning it, I can play some tunes. I spend quite a lot of time playing the guitar so much so I get scolded sometimes by my mother. Anyhow playing the guitar is very enjoyable. Besides the guitar I can play the piano. I learned it form my mother. Also my mom loves cooking delicious cookies. So she taught me that too. I can also cook some different kinds of cakes and cookies. It helps me to present my creativity. However I can present it with my sewing ability too. I can sew various pieces of clothing like pants, blazers, dresses, skirts etc. Drawing is also something that I’m interested in. I can draw some pictures with charcoal pencils. In the summer I like spending time on the beach. I can swim. I can play beach volleyball. It is the most interesting activity that I like doing in the summer.

AT THE POST-OFFICE
I like to go to the post-office because post is one of the things that link people living in different cities and countries.
There are some counters at the post-office. At one of them you can buy envelopes, stamps, post cards. You can write a letter right there and post it or you can write it at home and then throw it into one of postboxes throughout the city. It is very convenient because you don’t have to go to the post office again.
At another counter you can send a telegram. To do this, you need to fill in the form, give it to the clerk and pay the sum according to the number of words in your telegram.
At another counter you can send or get parcels. To send a parcel you have to bring it to the post-office, the clerk will weigh it and tell you how much money you have to pay. To get a parcel, you need to show your passport, so that the post-office clerk was sure that it is really you who is to receive the parcel.
At the next counter you can make a subscription to newspapers and magazines. You need to pay certain amount of money, which is stated in the catalogue, and your favourite newspapers and magazines will be delivered directly to your home.
At the post-office, there are also P.O. boxes. P.O. box means post office box, it is a numbered box to which someone’s mail can be sent and from which they can collect it.

Other than using internet, customer can print a document, scanning, faxing and etc. Playing games in internet café is the one of the most popular activities because a lot of young people come to play the games. The objective of internet café is affordable access to the resources of the internet and other online service. As the popularity of the internet continues to grow at an exponential rate, easy and affordable access is quickly becoming a necessity of life. The internet cafe provides us with that opportunity.

AT THE AIRPORT
A place from my childhood that I will always remember is the airport. The airport has to be one of the only places where true human emotions are portrayed. People may be depressed, sad or stressed out while they are gone, but when they reunite with their loved ones after an absence, all that fades away with a mere smile or tear at the gate or the baggage claim of the airport. You can see people’s worries and troubles disappear once they make physical contact with the person they have been waiting for. Those pure moments of bliss make everything feel alright no matter what their previous days were like. I can not recall the first time I was ever in the airport; all I have is an explosion of memory flashes in my head from when I was about four-five years old. It was my favorite place because I like travelling.

AT THE RAILWAY STATION
A railway station is a place where trains stop. Here people, who have to alight, get down the train and those who have to go, get in to the train. Some stations are small and some big. The big railway stations occupy a large area. Along the railway lines there are several platforms. On the main platform there is the station building. In it there are booking offices where tickets of different classes are issued. There are offices where parcels and goods are booked and delivered. There are refreshment room, retiring rooms and waiting rooms for passengers of each class and office-rooms for different officials of the railway department. One or more over-bridges connect the various platform. Owing to them the passengers have no difficulty in going from one platform to another. The railway station is a very interesting place. It is always full of life and excitement.

THE FRUIT TREE AND THE FRUITLESS TREE
Once upon a time there were a fruit tree and a fruitless tree. The fruit tree made a bet with the fruitless tree. The bet was about who was the most important for people’s life.
The fruit tree said first, ”I am the fruit tree! I am very useful to people. If they take care of me, I bring them lots of profit. What can you do for them? I think nothing because you are fruitless tree. If I were useless like you, I would have died of shame and dried up a long time ago.”
The fruitless tree was hurt by his neighbours words. “You are not right. I can do lots of useful things for people” the fruitless tree said calmly.
“I bet you have never done anything for people”, the fruit tree said stubbornly. “You are useless, you can’t do anything for them. The master takes care of you only because of his kindness.”
“Well, if the master takes care of me, I will thank him”, the fruitless tree answered calmly.
The fruitless tree answered, “What good have you done for me or the master? You are unable to do any good for anyone!”
“Well, though I don’t like to talk about it, you force me to. Our master, beginning from the stairs to the roof , has made his house from my wood he has used my wood for making his bed, cradle, cups and spoons. These are necessary for everyday life. If you really want to know, the wagon which delivers your fruit to the bazaar and the wheelbarrow which fertilizer to your roots, even the handle of the spade is made of my wood. When you were young, the donkey nearly chewed you up. But the master made poles from my branches and put a fence around you. Now look how big and strong you are! If you bear lots of fruit, you can collapse from its weight. But the master made pros for you, and where did he get those props? From me, of course! So, my friend, don’t make me talk about my fruit to try make your own fruit sweeter. If you make beds like this you fruit will not be sweet like this.”
