Grade: 10th-Grade

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

  • Differentiate between different English-speaking countries.

  • Give a presentation in English about international travel/why English is important

  • To improve oral presentation skills

  • To become familiar with new vocabulary

Materials: Globe, flipcharts, markers, board, chalks, crayons, hand outs and pictures

Students demonstrate speaking skills to practice oral presentation in front of classmates. Public speaking is a necessary life skill.



Homework can give students chance to apply what they have learned for real-world circumstances such as describing their country to the thousands of tourists who come here each year.

Activity- Decode the Code

Students divide and work in 4 groups to try to solve the word.

New words- globe, continent, attraction, world, geography,

  • Demonstrate and model with pictures, videos and use of the globe.

  • Practice pronunciation and students copy into their dictionaries.

  • Students should choose an English-speaking country and look for an information on that country.




  1. Students will create plan and give a presentation about the country which they choose. Students should imagine they are telling a tourist about this country and why it is good to visit for an English speaker. Create a poster describing and advertising the country for English speaking tourists.


  • Presentation should answer –

1.Why should tourists come to this country?

2.How many English speakers live in this

country?

3.What continent is the country in?

4.What attractions does the country have?




  1. T. monitor, facilitate and help students.

Students can use laptop, mobile phones to help with information collection for their posters. Students can also use crayons/colored pencils to decorate the poster



4. Groups will present their posters to whole class. When one group presents, other groups will listen and write 2 things which they like in their work.

5) After all of the groups’ presentations, students tell what they like the most in open class about each group’s poster and presentation




Assign homework

  • Write a short 4 sentence paragraph that helps market/advertise Kyrgyzstan for tourists. Why should tourists come to Kyrgyzstan? What is beautiful in Kyrgyzstan? What are the best things to see and do in Kyrgyzstan? What is the Kyrgyzstan culture like?
