All across the world, people are facing a wealth of new and challenging environmental problems every day. Unless we address the various issues prudently and seriously we are surely doomed for disaster. Current environmental problems require urgent attention .

Heavy metals, nitrates and plastic are toxins responsible for pollution. While water pollution is caused by oil spill and acid rain; air pollution is caused by various gases and toxins released by industries and factories; soil pollution is caused by industrial waste that deprives soil from essential nutrients.

Global Warming

Climate changes like global warming is the result of human practices like emission of Greenhouse gases. Global warming leads to rising temperatures of the oceans and the earth’ surface causing melting of polar ice caps, rise in sea levels and floods.

Natural Resource Depletion

Natural resource depletion is another crucial current environmental problems. Fossil fuel consumption results in emission of Greenhouse gases. Globally, people are taking efforts to shift to sources of energy like solar, wind and geothermal energy.

Water Pollution

This can occur through the release of industrial waste. A variety of toxic metals can affect aquatic and marine life, posing a threat to humans. Nitrates and phosphates can also promote uncontrolled multiplication of algae in lakes. This reduces water quality and oxygen levels, and may kill fish.

Waste Disposal

Developed countries are producing an excessive amount of waste and dumping their waste in the oceans. Also plastic, fast food, packaging and cheap electronic wastes threaten the well being of humans.

Solutions

• We should not throw any garbage and all countries must work the system of recycling garbage out;
• We can use modern technologies to invent a new kind of petrol to substitute oil with it;
• In order to save animals, we must build national parks, organize special groups which will take care of animals;
• We should also breed animals not to let any species disappear;
• More trees, bushes, flowers must be planted. They clean the air and serve as a home for many animals, birds, and insects.
