In the world of music

-Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

- We are glad to see you at our performance!

-Today we would like to invite you to a wonderful world - the world of music.

People cannot imagine their life without music. We listen to music, dance to music or learn to play musical instruments.

-Music is the greatest thing which connects people all over the world.

It hasn’t nationality or citizenship.

It’s a common human property.

-In the ancient world music was thought to be the voice of gods.

Music is not only a combination of pleasant sounds.

It is a kind of art, because music reflects people’s ideas and feelings.

-In this world filled with conflicts, tragedies, joys and hopes, music shows people what is the most important in our life.

-Different people like different kinds of music.

-We suggest to start our journey with Jazz.

There are a lot of well-known jazz musicians. Among them are Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, andcertainly Louis Armstrong- the king of Jazz.

1. -Louis Armstrong, who was once asked “What is jazz?” answered “If you are asking this question, you are incapable to understand it”.

His song “What a wonderful world!” is undying hit for all times.

1. Ray Charles.

-Ray Charles was one of the most respected singers of his time, who broke the barriers between black and white music.

Frank Sinatra called him "the only true genius in show business".

He was blind from his childhood but he was the owner of the most unique voices in the world.

He was a key figure in the development of modern music and the best musician of the 20th century.

-Ray Charles won 17 awards "Grammy" for his career.

Among his best hits is “Hit the road,Jack”.

1. In the 1940s and 1950s rock-n-roll appeared and Elvis Presley became the King of rock-n-roll.

Elvis Aaron Presley was an American singer, musician and actor.

He was a cultural icon, often known simply as Elvis.

He won his first prize at a school talent show.

In 1956 Elvis joined the army and had to have his famous ‘quiff’ shaved off.

It was sold more than a billion records by Elvis Presley.

More than 150 albums have reached gold, platinum or multi-platinum status.

He was died of heart attack when he was only 42 and was buried in his estate "Graceland".

A lot of tourists visit "Graceland" every year.

Nowadays extensive industry Presley imitators develops around the world.

In spite of his death people continue listen to his music, admire of his voice and sing his songs.

1. The Beatles.Who are they? Or maybe it would be more logic to ask – who were they? Because they don’t exist as a creative union for more than 40 years, and two of them died.

So – who ARE they, the four young Englishmen called ”the famous four?”

The answers may be numerous.Well, somеbody may say they are four young long-haired hooligans singing primitiverock’n’ roll tunes like “Love me do”.

The others may put them in the same rank with the greatest composers, such as Mozart, Beethoven and Bach.

Their fans may call them outstanding pacifists, philosophers and optimists remembering texts of their compositions, their model of life and their obvious influence on the young generation in the sixties.

They are: energetic, always fighting John Lennon

romantic and fantastically talented Paul McCartney

philosophical and а bit religious George Harrison

active and gifted Ringo Starr.

Well, what’s the use of all that talk? – They are THE BEATLES. Have you never heard of them?

Such songs as “Yesterday”, “Let it be”, “Love me do”, “Yellow Submarine” made them the most popular band not only in England, but throughout the world as well.

1. Michael Joseph Jackson was an American singer, dancer, and entertainer.

He became a star when he was a very young man, and did a long and difficult way to become The King of pop music.

His unique contribution to music, dance, and fashion along with a highly publicized personal life, made him a prominent global figure in popular culture.

He became the most successful recording artist in black music history, and one of the most successful solo artists.

Jackson won many music awards.

His album “Thriller” was certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the best selling popular music album of all time.

Everybody knows his moonwalk dance.

Michael Jackson was involved in a number of charitable events and donated millions dollars for charity.

In March 2009, Jackson announced in a press conference at London'sO’arena that he would perform there in major comeback concerts titled “This is it”.

In his own words it would be his "final curtain call". 

Less than three weeks before the first show was due to begin in London and with all concerts being sold out, Jackson died.

Shortly after his death on June 25, 2009, MTV briefly returned to its original music video format to celebrate and pay tribute to his work.

His songs are full of energy and very melodic.

Many people like the way he danced.

Every year on the 25^th of June people in different cities all over the world have flash mob in memory of Michael Jackson.

We think music is a part of our life.

A world without music would be really quiet boring place.

Without music, we would never have developed our ability to speak languages.

Cultures wouldn't exist, and there would be even more war than we already have.

Music is a door,

An escape to a different world.

A world you make and control in your mind.

Music is a hero,

One to cheer your spirits when you are down.

Music is an enemy,

Sometimes the lyrics bring you down.

Music is your personality,

 Expressed through song.

The music player,

Is you, the one holding it all together.

Music is an awakening to the real world.

Its lyrics are real and true.

Music is a best friend,

One to give advice when you need it.

Music is what you think of it.

Its starts off empty and colorless,

and escalates to something more,

your own world.

Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing.

Who can live without it,
