Тема урока: « Let’s make friends»

T: Good morning! I am very glad to see all of you today. I see you are in good mood. I am sure you are full of energy and ready to work. Let us make a circle and wish each other excellent work at the lesson. (Учащиеся становятся в «круг радости», желают себе и другим учащимся успеха, хороших знаний, активной работы на уроке).
T: Do you like sweets? I give you 3 kinds of sweets, 3 colours – red, orange and green. Choose your favourite colour!

So, you have created 3 teams! My congratulations!

Remember! We will not compete, we will work with the forces of three teams. (Ребята занимают места за столами в зависимости от выбранного цвета конфеты)

T: Now, let us begin our English lesson!

At first, listen to a part of a well-known song!

(Звучит песня «Friend will be friend» by Queen.)

T: Did you like the song? How do you think, what are we going to talk about today?

(Ответы обучающихся)

T: You are quite right!

The main goal of our lesson is to develop your speaking skills.

We are going to talk about friends and friendship. (CЛАЙД 1)


Students, you have the same white sheets in front of each of you, your task is to listen to my commands and execute them. (Одинаковые белые листы у каждого из обучающихся, выполняют команды учителя).

"Close your eyes,

fold the sheet in half,

tear off the upper right corner,

fold in half,

tear off the lower right corner,

fold the sheet in half,

tear off the upper left corner,

fold in half,

tear off the lower left corner,

T: Why did such different results come out of identical material and identical commands? (Обучающиеся отвечают)

We can conclude that you are all unique! And the more interesting it is to find more and more new friends, unlike ourselves.

T: Before we start we need to revise some words related to our theme. Let’s play a game «Word ball». I give you a word or word combination, and you make a sentence with this word. You can transform the word as you wish. Let’s go! (Обучающиеся отвечают)

T: Who can tell me what the words “friend” and “friendship” mean?

Look at the screen and read the definitions.

S1: Friend – someone you know well and like, but who is not a member of your family.

S2: Friendship – relationship between people who are friends (Macmillan Dictionary)

T: Do you agree with these definitions?

We are going to discuss what kind of friends we want to have.

On your desks you have a cluster blank called " Our dream friend ". During the lesson, you can add to the empty squares the characteristics of a person who, in your opinion, can be a good friend.

At the end of the lesson, you will share your ideas and we will create a general cluster.


T: You will see one half of the photo or picture. Try to guess what is depicted in the second part. (Обучающиеся совещаются и отвечают)


T: Read the list of statements. Comment on, give reasons. (по 2 утверждения у каждой команды)

T: It’s time for relaxation. I suggest you relax, look into each other's eyes, smile and exchange compliments.

 

T: Friends are the most important ingredients in the recipe of life

Now I want you to create a recipe of friendship. (Команды создают собственные рецепты и представляют)

You will need :

1) a pinch of happiness;

2) 1 handful of kindness;

3) 2 spoonfuls of gentleness;

4) 1 litre of sharing;

5) a teaspoonful of helpfulness;

6) 3 heaped tablespoons of laughter;

7) 50 g of smiles;

8) a sprinkling of cheerfulness;

9) 100g of love.


T: Let's go back to our cluster. Please fill in all the blocks in your forms. And now I ask you to go to the blackboard and write one word in our common cluster.


Summarizing the results of  the lesson.


Рефлексия. Для рефлексии используется история о мудром старце и трёх работниках, которые на один и тот же вопрос мудреца дали три разных ответа. Учащимся предлагается выбрать одну карточку из трёх: коричневую, зелёную или красную, которые соответствовали ответам каждого из трёх путников и выражали оценку урока учащимися.

Listen to a wise story.

One day a wise old man was walking along the road and met three young men who were carrying carts full of heavy stones.

“What were you doing? Why are you so tired?” asked the old man.

The first young man said: “I was carrying those awful stones during the whole day!”

The second man answered: “I was working very hard.”

And the third looked at the old man, smiled and said: “I was taking part in building of a new cathedral.

Now, please, imagine that you are those three mеn.

There are cards of different colours on your desks. If you are the first young man- take a brown card. If you are the second young man- take a green card and you are the third man – take a red card.

I want to say “Thank you!” to everybody for your work and I’m sure, everything we have discussed today, will be very useful and helpful. Remember: THE ONLY UNSINKABLE SHIP IS FRIENDSHIP.
