II. Warming up.

Teacher. Lets have small talk, my dear children. Have you had an interesting event this week? What did you like most of all? Did you travel around the UK? What English song did you sing? Did you speak English on your school breaks?

  1. Phonetic exercise. (слайд 1)

We have to do the phonetic exercise making our tongue more agile.

What is making trip for me?

It is a golden ray of sun and sea

The golden sand which looks like beads;

The blue-eyed sky and tender breeze...

What do I see with closed eyes?

I see the moon in magic light,

The stars that sparkle in the night.

That’s all my world and my real mind

IV. Speaking.

So, let`s start working. What wonderful weather we are having today! And our topic today is also wonderful. Do you want to know what we are going to talk about? Try to guess. There is a picture on the screen. Look at the screen and say what it means. (слайд 2)

Student. (предположение обучающегося)

Teacher: You can guess it if you do this task. (слайд 3).

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

"Travel as the greatest and serious science helps us to rediscover ourselves."

"Why do you visit the same place if there are so many unexplored corners on the Earth?!"

"Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer."

"A little step may be the beginning of a great journey!"

"I don’t know where I’m going, but I promise it won’t be boring!"

"We can't choose where we come from but we can choose where we go from there."

So, today we are going to summarize all the core subject learning. In my opinion, this topic is very interesting and important nowadays, because we enjoy travelling about our country and visiting different countries and we can’t imagine our life without it. Nowadays millions of people all over the world are travelling. People began to travel many years ago. The first travelers discovered new lands. Some people traveled to explore “White places” of the Earth. Today travel habits have changed a lot. Thousands of people travel every day either on business or for pleasure.

So, there are some questions to discuss:

  1. What can you say about people s travel habits?

  2. What do you know about your friend s holiday habits?

  3. Do you like travelling?

  4. What would you tell your foreign friend about your family travel habits?

  5. Who of you does not like travelling? Why?

  6. Who was the first travel agent?

P. More and more people now choose travelling for their holidays. In the past year people s travel habits changed a lot. Most people spend part of their holidays away from home and many go abroad. More people can afford foreign holidays nowadays. As a result, the number of travel agencies is growing. The tourist boom started in the 1960s when travel agents offered package holidays. Some people do not like organized package holidays and prefer to go on their own. Today there are many types of the package holidays and lots of different destinations.

P. My friend is a bit crazy about travelling. He prefers traveling on foot. His motto is “Walk everywhere!” or people will not be able to see much. Of course it could take a lot of energy and is not that fast. But walking is fun! People can meet a lot of people and visit many places. Believe him people will be able to get the most out of their travelling.

p. As for me, I like travelling. But my friends do not share my love of travelling. And they think I am crazy to spend holidays at “some place in another country” I think they do not understand that they can get a lot out of travelling. I feel excited to learn different languages and visit various tourist attractions. But travelling is not only excursions, historical places or wonderful seaside resorts. You can combine entertainment with learning.

P. I personally hate travelling. It always takes a lot of energy and I prefer just relaxing and doing nothing on holidays. Travelling is for people who want to get new experience and impressions during their holidays. Actually I have never been very adventurous, so travelling is not for me. I am a stay at home kind of person. I could travel by bus round the town or walk along the street

P. If we stay at home all the time, how will we learn such things about the world? One famous writer once said that a day spent in other places, gives us more than ten years of life at home, and I fully agree with him. I love to travel with my family, because the journey is much nicer when I'm with them. The members of our family usually have long walks in the country. Such walks are called hikes. During such hikes we see a lot of interesting places, sometimes we meet interesting people. It's useful for all members of our family. We take our rucksacks. We don't think about tickets and there is no need to hurry up.

Teacher.

Thank you very much. It was very interesting to listen to you.

Could you explain me what means “The world is no longer a big place!”

P. It means thanks to the fast ships, planes and trains we have no difficulty to get from place to place. We can do it quickly.

Teacher. If you are going to travel, write a list of wonderful and exciting things you could do, at home and away.

Take master ,s advice (слайд 6)

On your marks! Get ready to fight boredome.

Thinks big! Write down all your wishes, big and small.

Lists! Make a list of everything you are going to need and stick it inside your bag so you don’t lose it.

Don’t make the same mistake twice! Play back your list holiday in your mind, like a film.

A word of warning: You just stay on the road.

Yippee! The big day is nearly there. “Remember to take your toothbrush”

Smile! A big friendly smile is understood in every language. A smile is the best passport to a mega holiday.

Well now it is time for us to travel (слайд 7)

We are going to have a voyage across the ocean of the words, come over the wilds of grammar. Do not go wandering, just stick to the track of English phrasal verbs and idioms
