T: - Good morning, students! Glad to see you. I hope everything is O.K. Listen to the plan of our lesson. Today we are going to discuss the text “How to avoid travelling”, work in pairs and complete the dialogues and then I’d like you to speak about your preparations for the trip.

Why do the Germans travel?

What is the main aim of the Englishman abroad?

What kind of people do they like to meet when travelling?

What kind of hotel do they like to stay at?

What food do they eat abroad?

b) Discuss the text.

Describe the symptoms of a modern disease called travel.

Imagine you are an American tourist; a German tourist; an English tourist. Explain why you travel.

c) Why do people travel? Work in pairs. Complete the dialogues. Begin your answers with “I believe that …”, “I don’t believe that …”.

No two journeys are alike.

People don’t take trips, trips take people.

Many trips continue long after they are over.

e) And now I’d like you to speak about your preparations for the trip.

Remember the plan of speaking: collecting information about the places you intend to visit, going to a travel agency, buying guidebooks, buying things for a summer (winter) trip, taking photographs of different places.

Model: As for me I …
