Hi, Dasha!
How are you? I ’ m OK and I ’ m in Ireland now. I ’ ve won the language challenge and my prize is visiting Ireland. It ’ s a beautiful country and they are celebrating St Patrick's Day today. It ’ s a very interesting Irish holiday.
St Patrick was the Patron of Ireland who brought Christianity to the nation. On St Patrick's Day people decorate their houses and streets with green shamrock, watch parades and take part in them, sing songs and dance the Irish jig, play the harps and the bagpipes - the national Irish and Scottish musical instruments, dress up like Leprechauns. The symbol of this day is shamrock. Saint Patrick used it to explain about God. St. Patrick died on March 17 and it ’ s the day when people remember him. All people are happy; they are smiling, laughing and celebrating each other everywhere. I ’ m so excited.
I have a lot of photos. I ’ ll show them when I return to Russia.
Love,
Ira.
PS. I ’ ll send you a St Patrick's Puzzle. Try to do it, it ’ s interesting.
