Имена прилагательные в английском языке имеют три степени сравнения:

Положительную big, nice, small, strong, sad

Сравнительную bigg er , nic er , small er , strong er , sadd er

Превосходную the bigg est , the nic est , the small est ,

the strong est , the sadd est

Read and learn:

Warm – warmer – the warmest

Cold – colder – the coldest

Clean – cleaner – the cleanest

Kind – kinder – the kindest

Tall – taller – the tallest

Long – longer – the longest

Short – shorter – the shortest

Wide – wider – the widest

В написании удваивается конечная согласная буква, если односложное прилагательное оканчивается на одну согласную с предшествующим кратким гласным звуком:

hot- ho tt er- the ho tt est  

big - bi gg er – the bi gg est

fat – fa tt er- the fa tt est

sunny – sunn ier – the sunn iest

happy – happ ier – the happ iest

hungry – hungr ier – the hungr iest

dirty – dirt ier – the dirt iest

Конечная гласная е опускается перед фиксами - еr , -est :

larg e - larg er – the larg est

white - whit er – the whit est

nice – nic er -the nic est

wide – wid er – the wid est

late – lat er – the lat est
