• The rules of the competition are quite simple. About 400 sheep make a mad dash past ten competitors, who will try to count them accurately. The winner is the person who manages to count the number of sheep most accurately.

• Counting sheep is a mental exercise used in some Western cultures as a means of putting oneself to sleep.
