“Music and Generation M”
Цели урока:
Учебная: совершенствовать лексико-грамматические навыки говорения и умение вести диалогическую и монологическую речь по теме, анализировать понятие «современная музыка», учить высказывать свое мнение логично связно формировать навыки работы со справочной литературой, умение понимать иноязычную речь на слух.
Развивающая: развивать речевые умения, способность к языковой догадке, сравнению, обобщению.
Воспитательная: воспитывать у учащихся уважительное и толерантное отношение к мнению собеседника, привить любовь к музыке, развивать стремление узнать больше о других музыкальных стилях.
Оснащение урока: учебники, картинки по теме, карточки с заданием, CD, презентации.
Ход урока
1. Good morning boys and girls. We are glad to see you. How are you? What date is it today? What day of the week is it? Are you ready for the lesson? Today we have a lesson about Music. The theme of the lesson is “Music and Generation M”. We are going to speak about your favourite kind of music, compare modern and classical music. We’ll listen to your opinions and feelings about music.
- Can you think of a day without music?
So, music accompanies us all the time. Music reflects our life, we can say that our life gives birth to music but our life is different that’s why there are different styles of music. What styles can you name?
( На доске «дерево» в основании которого написано – LIFE. Учащиеся называют известные им стили музыки. Постепенно прикреплять листы с их названиями на дерево.)

3. Let’s speak about the styles of music. What is it meant by the term “folk music”?
P1: These are songs that were created by ordinary people. This music reflects the traditions of the country.
-What can you say about “rock music”?
P2: It is played on electrical instruments and repeated a few simple phrases. It was made popular by Elvis Presley. He is a king of rock music.
- What do you know about heavy metal music?
P3: It’s loud music with a strong beat and with electrical guitar. The singers often have long hair and wear black clothes.
- What kind of music do you like? Everyone in your class has got a favourite singer or group.
( Учащиеся рассказывают о своем любимом исполнителе вкратце с показом презентации).
- Most of you in general prefer rap and hip-hop music. But let’s speak about modern and classical music. Express your feelings in pairs and make up the dialogues. One of you likes modern music; the other prefers the classical one.

P1: What do you usually do when you are free?
P2: I listen to music. I like …(rap and pop) music very much.
P1: There are a lot of fashion groups and singers. They are popular but I think their songs are not worth listening.
P2: I don’t agree with you. This music helps me to forget my problems; it gives me strength and confidence.
P1: It doesn’t mean that their songs are really good. I’m fond of classical music. It is wonderful, it reflects my emotions.
P2: In my opinion this kind of music is serious and boring.
P1: I see our tastes are very different.
P2: Yes, you are right!

P2: Different types really. Why do you ask?
P1: Well, I’ve got two tickets to see the…. next week and I was wondering if you wanted to come with me.
P2: Oh. Well to be honest I’m not too keen on rock music. I prefer pop music.
P1: That’s OK. I’ll ask someone else. What sort of music do you like then?
P2: I like music that you can dance to. Artists such as …… are totally my kind of thing.
P1: Well, there’s a Kanye West concert coming up next month. Do you fancy going to that?
P2: Actually, I’ve already got tickets. Do you want to go with me?
P1: Sure, count me in!
P2: Great!
