My native town.

My native town is Gorky. The town, true to its name, is located on five hills. It is one of the oldest towns in our republic which was founded in the middle of the 16^th century. In September 2012 Gorky entered the history as the place which hosted one of the greatest national festivals “Dozhinky”.I like my native town because it is very beautiful and rather quiet. So I would like to tell you a little bit more about it in detail.

All visitors arrive at our town through its two main gates: the bus station and Pogodin railway station. They make good impression on all guests with their renovated and comfortable halls.

The first place of interest I would like to tell you about is the Ice Arena. It is very beautiful both outside and inside. If you want to relax with your friends on Saturday evening there you can skate, if you want to keep yourself fit and be healthy. There you can visit a gym.

After skating you may be tired. So I suggest you walking to Central Square. It is not very quiet there as the main road is near it, but you can just sit for a while, watch advertisements on a big TV and take some photos. If you would like to spend a night here the Pronya Hotel offers our guests its cozy rooms to feel at home.

After this I invite you to our local cinema called “Krinitsa”. It is a modern building with a big hall and a café in it. You can watch a new 3D film sitting in a comfortable armchair and eating tasty popcorn.

But if you want to have fun outdoors welcome to our Children Park. Here you can find merry-go-rounds, different side-shows, many trees and flowers. Opposite the park there is a big supermarket “Euroopt” on the right side of the main road. Many people enjoy going shopping there. So you can buy some food or drink and relax in the park tasting it.

Gorky is also well-known in our republic as a center of agriculture. Our town's real pride is the Belarusian Agricultural State Academy. Every year many specialists come from the Belarusian Agricultural State Academy.Thousands of students from 50 countries of the world are taught there. So there are many young people in this part of the town. If you are interested in biology or geography or you just like plants you should visit our Botanical Garden with its magnificent rosarium where there are about two hundred species of roses represented.

If you come to Gorky you must see our Amphitheatre.it is an up-to-date building with a beautiful entrance. There is much light and space there. The Amphitheatre is situated on the shore of the lake so there are many beautiful and exiting views and landscape of the nature. You can also borrow a boat and have a short boat trip.

Of course you will be hungry after all these attractions. So you can visit our pizzeria and eat tasty pizza. I am sure you will like the warm atmosphere there.

And at last if you are keen on sports I would like you to go to the swimming pool. It is a very good place to spend time in.
