Warm-up (10 min)

  1. Greet the kids: Hello! Students (Ss) all reply back: Hello!

  2. Sing Hello song

  1. Ask “How are you?” SS ask and answer one by one

  2. Ask each S “What’s your name?”. Write each name on the board using different markers and giving stars

  3. Review the numbers by writing them slowly on the board for SS to guess

Main lesson (45)

  1. Show the Stars’ flashcards and say: Hello! My name is Suzy. I’m 3 (show the number). Ask the next S: What’s your name? Answer. How old are you? I’m… (help if necessary). Ss ask and answer one by one.

  2. Open your Activity Books at page 6, please. Exercise 1. Listen and write the number. Listen to the example first and check the understanding.

  3. Role play

Ss pick 3 cards (mood, name, age). Ss make dialogues: Hello! How are you? What’s your name? How old are you? Change cards and play again.

  1. Show one flashcards (eg. red) and ask What color is it? Red. Ss repeat. Say: find sth red! Ss walk around the classroom, point at red objects and say red. Do the same with the other colours.

  2. Listen to songs: Sth blue/pink

  1. Play “Jump on” using the colours

  2. Use chant from Pupil's Books at page 7. Put the colours flashcards in the order from the chant. Sing the chant all together with and without audio. Take one card away and sing again. Keep taking the cards away. Sing the chant without the cards.

  3. Open your Activity Books at page 7, please. Exercise 1 (Listen and colour).

  4. Role play

Ss pick 4 cards (mood, name, age, color). Ss make dialogues: Hello! How are you? What’s your name? How old are you? What color is it? Change cards and play again if time.

  1. Play “Color Chase”

T starts as a "tagger." T stands in the middle of the playing area. T then shouts out a color, for example, "Blue!” Any player wearing clothing or accessories of the announced color (in this case, blue) can safely run to the opposite side of the playing area without being chased by the caller. Meanwhile, the caller tries to tag as many players as possible before they reach the other side. Players who are tagged cannot participate further until the next round. Once all players have either reached the other side or been tagged, a new caller is chosen, and the game continues with a new color announcement.
