- The theme of the lesson: Classroom language
- The aims of the lesson: a) to prepare and encourage pupils to achieve a good standard of English in their first year of learning.
b) to introduce language in contexts drawing upon pupils’ skills and developing their ability to deduce meanings
- Visual aids: type-recorder, cassette, posters, flashcards, pictures.
I. Warm up: 1) Greet pupils as they come into the class
2) Phonetic train
3) Check up their homework
II. Active presentation:
Pupils open their books at p.26.
They look at the pictures, read and try to find new words. NEW WORDS: sit down, to take, to open, page, to stand up, to close. The pupils write these words in their dictionaries.
Then the pupils read the text and translate it.
III. Speaking
The pupils look again at the pictures and they can name these things.
Then they must build up the sentences with these words in their copy books. For example:
This is a pencil. These are three pencils.

- Conclusion.
