What is the structure of a letter? Let’s recall.

Today the topic of our lesson is “Sport”. We’ll talk about different kinds of sport.

Do you like sport?

Do you think it is important to do sport and keep fit? Do you take part in some school competitions?

Well, I see that many of you like sport. That’s why I think it will be interesting for you to talk about it.

The first part of the letter is Opening paragraph ( you should state your reasons, why do you want to participate). There are several variants to express it, for example:

  I have decided to participate in…

The second part of the letter is Middle paragraph(s). Here, you should give supporting evidence and add further reasons. There are also several reasons how to write it:

• In the 1^st place…

• Firstly, to begin with..

• Secondly/thirdly/in addition/ also/besides/ finally.. Everything depends on you, i.e. how many reasons you have to take part in it.

And the third part is Closing paragraph. It means that you should sum up. You should summarize using the following clichés:
