For the last one hundred years Los-Angeles has been a lot of things.

First, it was a little city with orange forest and great weather. But in

1908 a group of people came to Los-Angeles to soot a film. In 1911

the first film studio appeared in Hollywood ( a part of Los-Angeles).

Now it is the world’s film capital.

The numbers of the studios grew very quickly. They combined into

large corporations and now the biggest film companies are:Disney,

Universal, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Columbia, Fox,MGM.

These are star factories.

On Hollywood Boulevard you can see the Mann’s Chinese Theatre,

the Egyptian theatre, the Kodak Theatre.If you look down at your feet,

You’ll see bronze stars set in sidewalk. You can read the names of

People who made Hollywood famous.Every year in February

celebrities come here for Oscar Night.

First Oscar ceremony was held on May,16, 1929. Since that time

Every year The Oscar is presented for the best achievements in

film world.
