Aim: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to describe the places they live in.

Let’s read the topic of our lesson. «The place we live in». And where do we live? We'll speak about our homes, our flats and houses where we live. We’ll watch a little video and answer the questions, than check up your hometask.

Now I've just received a message with a video where a girl, her name is Anna, she is from England describes her home.
We'll watch it , of course, than you will answer my questions. First look trough these questions.

Your home task was to read A letter from Africa where Joe described the house he lives in.
It is Ex. 12, page 105 and name all the rooms in his house.
Now I want to check how you’ve understood the text. Listen to my statements and say if they are true or false. If the statement is false don’t forget to give the right answer.
-Joe lives in a small house.
- There are three floors in his house.
- Joe’s room is downstairs.
- There is much furniture in his room.
- The wardrobe is in the corner of his room.
- Next to the wardrobe there is a sofa.
- Joe likes to read books sitting on the sofa.
- His parents’ room is under Joe’s bedroom.
- There is a kitchen next to the parents’ room.
- The family spends a lot of time in the living room.
- The family keeps the animals below the hall and the kitchen.
Now answer my questions about places you live in:
1. Do you live in a house or in a flat?
2. Is your house comfortable?
3. Have you got a fireplace in your house?
4. What is there behind your house?
So, our places where we live are different. We can live in flats and in the houses, they can be big or small, they can be comfortable or not. But we all love our homes. And do you know the proverbs to prove it?
1. East or West, home is best.
2. There is no place like home.
