New Zealand is an English-speaking country in the Pacific Ocean. It is made up of the three large islands and many small ones.
The climate of the country is warm and good for farming.
New Zealand has not many native animals, but the kiwi, a bird which does not fly, lives only in this country. The kiwi is the national emblem of New Zealand.
The largest city of New Zealand is Auckland. Wellington, the capital, Dunedin and Christchurch are also big cities.

Canada is an English-speaking country in the north of the North American continent. This big country is washed by the three oceans: the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Arctic.
Canada is a country of lakes and forests. The maple leaf on the flag of Canada shows how important this tree is for Canada.
The climate of the country is rather cold, winter lasts from four to five months in Canada.
There are two official languages in Canada, English and French. People speak
mostly French in Quebec.

It’s seven o’clock in the morning. It’s time to get up. Mother Hen says to her four little children, ”Get up! Get up! It’s time to go to school”. The children don’t want to get up, but they do. “Good chickens” says Mother Hen. “Look at the clock. “Now do you morning exercises”. Very good”, says Mother Hen. “Look at the
clock. Do you know the time?” “Yes we do”, say four little chickens. “So, what’s the time?” “It’s eight o’clock”. Mother Hen says, “It’s time to go to school, isn’t it?” “Oh, yes!” say four little chickens. They take their schoolbags, say ”Goodbye” to their mother and go to school.

The Brave Hunter
One morning a hunter was in the forest. It was a hot day in spring. The grass was green, the sky was blue. It was very nice in the forest. Suddenly the hunter stopped. He looked to the right, to the left and stooped down.
A farmer worked in the forest. “What do you want here, my friend?” asked the farmer. “Look at this track”, answered the hunter. “I think it is a bear’s track, isn’t it?” “Yes, it is. Come on! I know the forest better than you do. I can show you the bear”. Oh!” answered the hunter. “I am not looking for the bear. I am looking only for his track. Good-bye, my friend!”

THE DONKEY AND HIS TRICKS
One day a farmer and his donkey went to town. The donkey carried two bags of salt. Soon they came to a small river. There was a bridge across the river. The donkey stepped on the bridge but stumbled and fell into the river. He came out very happy: there was no salt in his bags. Do you know why?
Some days passed. The farmer loaded the donkey with two bags of salt and they again went to town.
When the donkey was in the middle of the bridge, he did not stumble but jumped into the river. He was very happy again: there was no salt in his bags.
Next day the farmer loaded the donkey with sponges. He wanted to see Mr. Donkey tricks. They went to town again. When they were in the middle of the bridge, the donkey jumped into the water. But this time he was not happy. The bags were very heavy.
