Grade: 7 “B”

Teacher: Ruzmatova D.

Theme: Unit 10. Lesson 2. “Exotic America”

Aims:

  1. Educational:

  • To know more about America

  • To learn new words

  1. Developing:

  • To enable pupils to and answerthe questions deal with America

  • To give opportunity to practice new words

  • To help pupils to read & discuss the texts

  1. Pedagogically:

  • To help pupils to work in groups & in pairs

  • To raise awareness of America

  • To improve pupils speech

Equipment: pictures of America, presentation in Power point, vocabulary, Fly high7



Activity 1: Work in pairs

Objective: to enable pupils to speak about America

Time: 8 minutes

Procedure: Ask pupils to say information about America & divide them into 4 groups (with the names of 4fruit: banana, strawberry, peach & cherry). They should write 5 things that they know about the USA. After speaking show some slides about America for addition to pupils info.



Activity 2: Word list

Objective: to introduce & practice new vocabulary

Time: 5 minutes

Procedure: Write new word list on the board or stick them && introduce pupils new vocabulary. First read one by one & ask pupils to repeat them after you. Say their translations.

  • Belong to - … ga bog’liq

  • Discover – kashf qilmoq, topmoq

  • Expedition – ilmiy sayohat, ekspeditsiya

  • Narrow –1) tor; 2) katta bo’lmagan

  • Canyon – kan’on (chuqur va tor vodiy)

  • Hospitality – mehmondo’stlik

  • Wonder – 1) bilishni xohlamoq 2) hayron/lol bo’lmoq

  • S eafood – dengiz taomi

Activity 3: Read & say

Objective: - to help pupils to work in groups

-to enable pupils to read for gist.

Time: 3 minutes

Procedure: Divide pupils into 2 rows. And ask them to read Ex16, the 1st group should read blue text & the 2nd group should read pink text. Then they should say what these texts are about.


Activity 4: Read & match

Objective: to improve the vocabulary based on topics.

Time: 5 minutes

Procedure: Divide pupils into 4 groups. And give them texts from “a” to “f”. For group 1-“a” text, group 2- “b” text, group 3-“c” text, group 4- “d, e, f” texts. They should read texts & match them in 1 b.


Activity 5: Listen & answer the question

Objective: to enable pupils to develop listening & understanding

Time: 7 minutes

Procedure: ask pupils to close their books & listen to you attentively. Read the text 2 times if they need, then ask question: Where will Mr. Green go for his holidays: Hawaii or Arizona? Why?


Activity 6: Quiz time

Objective: to check pupils & make conclusion for the lesson

Time: 5 minutes

Procedure: Ask questions about America. Give some prize or good mark to the pupil who answers full & correct. Before reading check pupils that everyone closes books & notebooks.

  2. What is canyon?

  3. What is the meaning of the word ”Grand”?

  4. What do you know about “Hula”?

  5. When is celebrated a “Lei day”?

Key:

  1. It’s situated in the central part of the Pacific Ocean.

  2. It’s a deep narrow valley.

  3. It means “very big”.

  4. The “Hula” is one of the most beautiful dances in the Hawaiian Islands.

  5. It’s celebrated on the 1st May.
